Still looking for a 964 - help , opinion on this one

I'm reading through the feedback here and I would recommend being realistic about the market. I've found a reliable guage for current market is Hagerty (https://www.hagerty.com/apps/valuationtools/search/auto) and eBay SOLD items.
I'm not seeing higher mileage standard C2 or C4 Coupes trading hands (IOW actually confirmed selling) near/over $50K. The only cars I've seen selling at or above $50K are unmolested, full documented service history going back at least 10 years, low mileage (less than ~75K miles), and first paint examples (no accident history confirmed by metering the paint on ALL panels in at least 3 places) along with a solid PPI.
That said, there are exceptions and reading the Porsche market this time of year is tough. Keep in mind its the 30th for the 964 and we're heading into car season.

^^^^^^^^ +1 on what cobalt says. No expert here but a hobbyist car junky. Hagerty valuation on the 964 is about as accurate as Zillow’s real estate value....... not accurate. $50k is the entry into this market almost regardless of condition unless the car is just beat or has a higher miles 150k plus. . You may get lucky and find the needle in the hay stack for less but it will most likely be luck. If you leave in California you can probably add another $5,000.

Although this looks like a bargain if it checks out. Too bad it is a tip. If only it was a 5 speed.

Yes, we had an agreement on that car a few days earlier - he mentioned wanting to bring it to the event...I said fine but not to sell it at the event to someone else....he then got cold feet on the deal... Guess I shouldn't have given him the idea. After-the-fact, I think it's fine - he was a kid and this was his first car, driving it for $10k miles in the last year with no maintenance reported... what could go wrong?
