I am asking about 15. The Tail lights as per the pictures came with 21 only. The center reflector came with 4 on both sides and 22.on the top. It also has foam on the back side.

I just went and pulled the center reflector off of my car and there was no gasket on the bottom at all. Hmmmm.

The older gaskets were one piece for the sides and bottom. You’ll need to cut the side pieces off and just use the bottom. There is a seam you can follow for the cuts.

I used several small pieces of double sided tape to adhere the bottom seal to the light but I can tell you that it won’t stay in place if you conditioned the rubber. You’ll need to hold it with your hands as you place the light and get it set into place.

I have seen two types of lower gaskets (seal) for the center reflector, one is L shaped and the other roundish, both have a extension that fits into the gap between reflector and body. When I used the L Shaped I had it facing out to the back of the car, that way whatever ran down went off the bumper

Note ; Sunset guarantees those for two years but if there is a problem its a six week ordeal where you need to send them back

I was not happy with the France made ones and found a good set of SWF on ebay where they show up from time to time

It is common for the bottom gasket to be missing as it falls off when reflector removed I used a hi temp silicone adhesive on mine.

There is adhesive on the rubber gasket for the bottom of the center reflector. Ill take a pic when I get home from work. It should stick onto the reflector just fine.

Make sure you clean the mating surface on the reflector with denatured alcohol and it may stick but eventually the heat gets to it and the adhesive loses its hold, thats why so many dont have the gasket at the bottom

OK, now this may really stupid, but
Just starting to do first of many small upgrades for my 90 964 cab. It did not have seal around tail lights, and the look really bugged me, so ordered #16 above from Pelican. For the life of me I can't get them to stay anything close to on in order to re-assemble. They are just slightly small, as I guessing they should be. But they won't stay in the grooves of the light, so there must be a trick to get them to stay when reinstalling?? Appreciate any input!! Thanks much!

I don't have any good pictures yet but I'm a try to use this rubber strip that comes with adhesive that I found atthe local hardware store.

Happy to have found this thread and would like to clarify gasket compatibility for those of us not purchasing new tail lights but refurbishing old. Is the following correct:

Any year tail light or center reflector can use either pre or post 1991 gasket assemblies.

Tail Lights: use EITHER #16 (pre 1991) OR #21 outer AND #22 inner (post 1991)

Reflector: use BOTH #4 top AND #15 bottom

What about #3 at the ends of the central reflector? I believe it ends 1990?

Yes, any light/reflector will fit any year. The idea on the gasket change was Porsche hoped that allowing air to circulate behind the lights they wouldnt condense up, we all know this didnt work!

I don't mind the look and am guessing it is easier to install the new style gaskets. Unless someone thinks its an awful idea, I’m going 91 style on my MY1991, made frustratingly exactly at the cusp of all the ‘91 changes.

Dont install #16 or #3 type. They make the fit very tight on the lenses.

FWIW, I used the #16 on my ‘90 with new lenses. After reading an earlier note about rust I waxed the heck out of the taillamp bucket. Aside from (hopefully) forestalling any rust it made it easier to get the seals in place properly.
