Default No impact wrench on titanium lugs

I read somewhere in Porsche literature (cant find it owner's manual, so maybe shop manual) that you shouldn't use an impact wrench on titanium lug nuts.

What's the consensus opinion?

Thanks,

Dan

I wouldn't use an impact wrench no matter what type of metal the lug nuts were made from. just seems like bad practice.

I'll use an impact to snug lugs up but finish with a torque wrench.

I think the thought is that titanium is prone to galling and the impact will accelerate that.

The std lug nuts on a 964 are some Mg alloy, and they will break if submitted to repeated impact wrench use.

What's the prescribed torque for titanium lugs?
