Default Idling Problems

Hi All,

I have a '90 C2 with 120 000 miles and an RS clutch. A few days ago, the idle became a bit erratic especially with the A/C. It's got really bad today since I cannot fully depress the clutch at low speeds without the car switching off. If it does not switch off, then it hunts viciously between 200 and 2000 rpm. Any ideas?

Thanks

If you try doing a search (link at the top, right), you'll find a whole mountain of possible causes. Unfortunately!

The one that happened to me was worn contacts on the air-metering flap near the air-filter. If you take the filter out and reach right in there, you can waggle the flap a few times. If this helps (temporarily), you'll know you're on the right track.

Welcome aboard!
