Default removing the gauge to fix the cloudy glass and peeling lights (+ fruit fly).

+1 on the write up. I tackled the job last night.

I had 3 reasons to do the gas/oil level gauge:
a) glass/plastic glue joint was beginning to separate around the outside
b) plastic coating over the two lighted areas (low gas and low squirt) had cracked and peeled
c) a fruit fly had died and was layed to rest under my gas pump icon

The bezel work took longer than anticipated, but patience prevailed. With the bezel and glass off, I used non-serrated pliers to pry up on the rolled edge of the bezel a bit more to aid in the galss removal and reinstallation.
A razor blade started the separation process, then followed by two toothpicks and some Goo Gone inbetween (I found the Goo Gone lube helped to separate the two layers).
Worked the glue off with the blade and the Goo Gone, and set it aside.
A puff from my lungs relocated the fruit fly somewhere on my dinner table.
Some careful toothpick work picked away at the peeling issue until I was at the black border. Of course, this wasn't a precise job, so there are a few places where it went beyond and into the black border, giving it a sawtooth effect similar to a speech bubble in POWERPOINT. So now, when my gas or squirt is low, the light comes on a screems "LOW LEVEL!!!!! STOP NOW!!!!"

Would post pics but it appears that I have run out of pic posting room.
