Zogster, I used the orange RMS seal instead if the gray colored seal a month ago on my 951 clutch replacement. It was recommended that I not use the gray one due to it becoming hard/ brittle due to the heat much sooner. Im sorry I dont have brand names for these 2 choices but one on orange and the other is gray

Well it's in there now!

It was orange though, or orangey-brown, rather than grey so probably the same one, thanks for the tip.

I wasn't aware there was a choice, good to know for the future. I think I ordered it from design911 here in the UK, who I'm sure only supply the right bits rather than the cheapest. Sometimes a choice of OEM vs Porsche original bits.

So I finally have the new clutch and flywheel in, was able to get a great rate with a local mechanic. Everything feels great since picking up the car yesterday. The mechanic told me no hard shifting for the first 500 miles but not to worry about taking the car up to high RPMs.

I've driven about 90 miles with a few high revving pulls. Should I take it easy for the bed-in period? Or drive normally without hard shifting?

Thanks!

I drove mine normal with out any hard shifting. MY 1st drive with the new clutch a few weeks ago was on Hwy 17 during rush hr traffic, lots of stop and go traffic up hill. no problems.
