Default After market tach...Hook up help

I am installing an Autometer tachometer. DOes anyone know if it just hooks up to the negative side of the coil or if it must be jumped to a wire on the DME/KLR......

Thanks

short question.. Why? Is the stock tach not good enough? Or are you trying to go for the ricer looks?

The car is a track only car, gutted etc, I just removed the enitre dash and will no longer be using any of the factory gauges.

BTW, I got the answer from Autometer, negative side of the coil...
