Who can see what's wrong with listing?

No one has seen what's wrong besides the price? It's and early block with 16v pistons in it. The early oil pan, lack of engine code stamp tells me that right away.

It's not a M44-40 block aka 944S block. It's and early block with 87-88 pistons. It has an early oil pan not a late oil pan found on the real M44-40 blocks. See it now?

Ah yes I see, well spotted. Even if it was a M44-40 block and pistons, would it be worth a premium over any other 2.5 block?

it is most likely an original S block even if the part number is off, it has the spring timing belt tensioner attached and already has the two S-position knock sensor bosses drilled. the 1986 turbo block doesn't have both bosses even cast on the block yet so id say it's 87+.
...it also has the late (87+) style balance shaft covers.
what is weird is that it has an early (85.5-86) oil pan on it with the turbo drain plug, but NOT the oil level sender or its blockoff plate.

It's an early block, I'll bet $ on it. A lot of money on it. All 85.5 and later blocks that I have seen are stamped on the block's deck at the rear passanger side. All early blocks look just like that one without the boss to stamp the engine code. And that's an early balance shaft cover. Or 89 and later found on the 104mm blocks. The 85.5 to 89 2.5l blocks balance shafts don't have the two big bolts at the rear balance shaft bearing area.
