No- Don't think so... Should be 360. I didn't specifically ask, but I assumed 360 otherwise the price would be much higher.

Yes- They said the turbo will handle 100 PSI oil pressure. They said the problem is with draining. They recommended no restrictor.

It's a 360. I just ordered the same turbo from turbonetics in a 50 trim and mine was a 360 thrust bearing. The TEC turbo's all come in a 360 bearing standard...at least according to their sales guy.

It's wierd though, when I called TEC in colorado they quoted me $1040 for that turbo. I wonder why my price was higher. I just below $850 for my turbo from turbonetics.....but for a few bucks more I would have gone with TEC. Too late now though.

If it's not a BB turbo, I would try it without the restrictor.

Did you ask them for the 50 trim? I think they have 46 and 54 in stock. Maybe extra for 50? I liked TEC because everything was new as opposed to rebuilt.

Just thinking out loud, if the drain is the problem then would'nt a properly sized restrictor equalize the flow in to the flow out ?

<<<I got their Ni Resist T04E with 46 Trim and their custom hotside (8).>>>

That's the same configuration turbo as on my car. Just wait till you get that thing on.

Actually I priced out the 46 and 50.....both were within $50 of each other according to the girl on the phone. She didn't have an actual tech person available....so maybe those were just the prices in her catalog, but in either case it cost them my business. I beleive she quoted me $1027 and $1077 for the 46 and 50 respectively.

Oh...and I went with the 50 trim and #8 hotside as well. Whooohooo

TEC's page is: http://www.turboengineering.com/
If you call them make sure you ask to talk to Jim, or one of the "techs." This could be the cause of the price descrepency.

David floyd

"If his turbo is blowing oil, it will continue to blow oil even if a catch can is used."

I got that part, but it seems like you're saying that whenever the crankcase vent has oil coming out of it, blowby is an issue. I think all of us would have a blowby problem then; even OZ (filter turning oily and eventually dripping oil into can)

Mike S and cpt_koolbeenz do you guys plan to put your cars on a dyno afterwards? A dyno sheet showing boost and A/F ratio from both of you would be a great coparrison!

Yes that is what I am saying, I think a small amount is normal ( like OZ ) but as engine wears and blow by gets worse then more oil will be blow out, somebody correct me if I am wrong.

Sorry for the OT koolbeenz
