I have driven eleven 951 to date and what you're refering to happens on 220 hp cars only. All the 250 hp cars keep their boost up to 6400 rpm.

Could it be possible you bought a lemon ?
You don't even have the bridge spoiler on your '90 car ...

Hey, I was NOT refering to my car, it keeps over 1 Bar (over 2 B on stock gauge) to the redline, it is just very usual that wg springs are "tired" and don't hold the boost.

About the bridge spoiler, I was just asking about it in an other thread. My car is US-specs 951, and someone mentioned that late 951 US models were NOT equipped with bridge spoiler but with the normal black rubber one! Any thoughts?

And hey, did you took it personally, my ref to your S2.. well don't, it was just my kind of humor..S2 is a great Porsche

Thom, even 250hp 951's lose a little boost in the high RPM's. If the car is stock, it's supposed to do that. Are all of the eleven 951's that you drove euro-spec cars? Would they be any different?

I thought the factory top speed was approx. 157. Depending on tire size (rotations per mile more accurate than calc.) 6400 rpm is around 160. The 951's I've been in, inc. mine have speedos that were optimistic. Not always by the same percentage @ differents speeds, either. Read an article (C&D) some time back about speedo's by country/mfg. German speedos tended to be optimistic. Probably for safety purposes.
