944 Turbo Engine Harness: Who wants a NEW ONE?
#91
I posted on RL on one of the harness threads. The putty in the snorkel is a fire guard, it is an intumescent seal if the engine catches fire....just and FTI for anyone wondering what it is.
When I built my harness, I spent a lot of time, money and effort hunting down the right connectors. Anything AMP is easy to source. Some of the other things not so much. Then I realized, modern weatherpack connectors are far cheaper and superior. Much easier to replace a couple of those on the car.
Snorkels can be reused but they're packed full of ancient putty that gives me a rash. It wouldn't be awful to just rivet an adapter plate over the old hole for a more reasonably sourced loom grommet. That's my plan for the after market EMS anyway.

So Sorry
Team,
Regretfully, my source has decided he doesnt have the time to dedicate to this project.
I am searching for a new one that is credible and reliable. If you have suggestions, let me know.

WHAT???? Send me what's needed and I'll make new harnesses for everyone. As long as I get one for my 87 951. I can make 86 951 harnesses and 87 style with the oil sensor plug. I just can't afford the items needed. And I don't know if 89 951 harness is any different then the 87 style. And if you would like my electrical background, I was an electrical/avionics and armerment systems repairer on the AH 64 Apache Longbow helicopter before it was first released in June of 98. That's a 30 million dollar helicopter without the fire control radar on top, 35 million with. Each! I was in the first unit in the world to work on them. 1-227 avn regt out of west fort hood. And I took and Aced electrical automotive class, as well as advanced engine diagnostic class. Oh and I have OCD. That's always a plus.

For brand new harnesses I would need new factory connectors if I wasn't sent a harness for rebuilding and using the old connectors or whatever could be reused, each harness sent to me would be evaluated. I would need the proper wires with the factory color codes, proper terminal ends. Pretty much everything if I'm making the harness from scratch. Even the firewall pass thru for the harness. And the proper wire crimp tool with the proper terminals for the factory connectors, wire terminal extract tools if I'm to reuse an old connector. And the wire sheethes in all the different sizes to include the small diameter thermal sheeting for the oil sensor wire on 87+ harnesses and the wire harness hold down plastic connectors. I have an 86 and 87 951 harness I can reverse engineer for the wiring diagram and connector the locations and which direction the sensor wires branch off the harness. And if anyone would want a custom setup they could send me the lengths needed where the sensors branch off the harness for whatever sensor or any custom setup really. But I would need a schematic for custom jobs. Coil on plug setups, sequential injection whatever really. And I got the time and experience and then some. I just don't have really anything to make one from scratch. Didn't think I would be doing it for everyone till now. Cool with me.
