Default Free Garrett Turbo Oil pressure restrictors...

I am getting too much oil pressure on boost, causing some white smoke. I am going to Fab up an oil restrictor to go between the oil inlet and the turbo. If someone will give me the proper diameter of the hole to correctly restrict the oil, I will make these for everyone who wants one.

I will check my notes for the size I am using. White smoke is usually coolant, blue for oil and black for fuel.

I used an 1/8" NPT plug (recessed hex head) with a .080 hole thru it if I remember correctly.

1/8" NPT with Flush Allen Head.

You can thread it into the center section.

You will have to cut the thing down as you will not be able to thread it all the way in due to the NPT threads. My advice is to cut it to about 1/2 thickness.

Then drill your hole. Make sure to counter bore the underside so the oil will spray in a nice cone pattern.

I use a .050 (#50) bit. So far I've not had any problems. But if I were to do it again, I would go .035.

Good point, I forgot about this. On mine, I just ran the plug completely through a 1/8" NPT die a couple times to cut down the taper. After this I could thread it completely in without cutting it down.

Do you recommend this for your vitesse turbos also? if not, are you doing something different to yours?

I used a 1/8 npt allen plug, cut flush and drilled a .070 hole ( could not find my notes but I think this is the size )

Thanks so much guys. This is a lot better than my plan, which was to create a plate with a hole in it to bolt in between the line and turbo. I am going to go get some fittings and drill the holes and cut and mill them down to the proper size, so If anyone needs one as well, PM me.
