Default resealing balance shaft covers in car?

The subject says it all really. I will be tearing into my motor soon to do the pan gasket and upgrade the turbo. I also want to reseal the balance shaft covers as I think they are weeping. Looking at the on the turbo side, I can see that once the turbo is out all the bolts including the 2 on the front end of the front housing can be accessed so I think that side will be ok. On the exhause side, will I need to remove the header? (it looks like I can get to all the bolts running along the length of the cover).

Also, the two bolts on the front end of the exhaust side balance shaft front housing look they are buried under the belt covers etc. I guess that to change the front o rings the pulley would have to be taken off which means pulling the belts etc. I want to try and avoid this though as my leak is on the o rings at the very back of the covers.

Has anyone done this without pulling the motor?

Thanks
