Building hybrid turbo

First of all I have done research and a lot of it. There are plenty of threads talking about hybrid turbos and even one with a to4e coldside mounted on a k26 hotside. What I can't find is how any of them are done. I have built many t3/t4 hybrids for my Rx7's but I've never messed with a k26 or k27 turbo. How are these hybrids built? Can you directly bolt on a new compressor and housing like on T4 turbos or is there machining and fabrication involved. I have a k26 turbo but I want to upgrade the coldside (compressor and housing) to something bigger.

whats your hp goals?
If you have a K26/6 or K26/8 just get a coldside from a k27 7200 and it will bolt up. Get it high speed balanced and/or rebuilt and you'll be good.
K27/6- Good for 325whp ish
K27/8- Good for 350whp ish
^ Pending other supporting mods.
If you want to use a T3/T4 you could use the coldside and center chra and machine the k26/6 or k26/8 housing. The 8# housing should be close to a stage III garrett turbine not sure on the other.

What are the specs on a k27 coldside? I might have a custom crossover pipe made so I can put a t3/t4 turbo in with twin scrolls. The spool should be improved over a k27 turbo anyways but I want something similar in size.
