I'll definitely post that when I go and see it. At the moment it is a long distance relationship.

I said M030 was optional on 90/91 cars, not 89, on which it was standard.
M030 on 90/91 turbos features adjustable koni stocks and that's it. The medium black calipers are standard fitment, while they were part of the M030 package on the 90/91 S2. AOR trans standard on all 250hp turbos, like abs, a/c. The 7.5"/9" D90 wheels are standard on the 90/91 turbos.

I insist that your car should have the bridge spoiler.

Thanks so much for the info. Great to have someone with such definitive info. That is really useful. Relief about the brakes, so I just need to swap out the shocks. I will be able to track down the original owner NZ of the car(assuming he is alive!) ... NZ is a small village. I will ask him about the bridge spoiler

So are you in effect saying that only the 88TS and 89T M030 package included the 928S4 front brakes?
Were they a separate option for 90-, or just no longer available at all?

'Medium blacks' are the 928 S4 brakes. The pre '88 951, the S2 and the 968 came with 'small blacks' unless M030 spec'd. So what Thom is saying is the the 951 90-91 was same spec as the '88/89 951S EXCEPT that the koni adj suspension was M030 option. I think that is right

Exactly.
The content of M-coded equipment can vary throughout the years and the different models.
The M030 package on the 968 for instance includes larger ARBs and medium black front brakes (with cross-drilled discs all round), whereas there was no M030-related ARB or brake variations on the 250hp 951.
Since the 88 TS was the first 951 to feature M030 and the medium black brakes we could say they were part of the M030 package for this year, and for 89 turbos that have the same mechanical spec as the 88 TS. Things change for the 90/91 years, but all 250hp turbos feature the medium black brakes from the factory, turbo cabs included.

Mine is a 90 for what it's worth, though not quite stock anymore (!).

I was under the impression that the 86-88 non-S 951s had "mediums" (upgrade from normal 944 brakes), and that the 88-89 951 S had "bigs". So then, what had "big black" brakes?

928 GTS had big blacks, 968 turbo S/RS had big reds.
