Default Anyone have any detailed pics of Ported intake ports?

I have been trying to do a little porting to the intake ports on my head, and I need some pics of a ported head that I can use as a guide. I am trying to decide if I took too much metal off the short side radius, the transition from the seat to the port towards the bottom of the port floor.

How many times will I have to get myself into trouble by trying to do everything myself?

Oh well, you live and you learn.

Yeah, I looked at their site. I couldn't get a good pic of the short side radius.

The third pic does help. You can see the Short side radius. If you are looking at the pic, its the left hand wall of the port. It starts to protrude just a bit right before the seat. I think I took too much metal off of that area of mine.

How's the car coming boostguy?
Aside from this little might-be mishap, are you doing just a topend rebuild?

I don't ever remember getting the full scoop.

And don't worry, I screw things up all the time.
You have to be willing to screw things up if you're ever gonna learn.

I'm no expert, but the info I've read indicates that the only work that should be done on the short side radius is to polish any rough surfaces. Usually, no benefit is had from removing material here.

Hope that it works out for you. I give you serious credit for undertaking this project. The boys go into hiding when I even think about undertaking something like this, if you know what I mean.

Turbite: Its coming well. As soon as I finish porting, its off to the machine shop to have new guides installed, and three new (used) valves. I am also having a 3 angle valve job done, as well. Another project I have in the works is the fabrication of a Intake Manifold of my own design, and IC pipes to complement.

There is usually a good reason for that reflex. You don't end up with a ruined head

I am trying to get some pics of mine to get some expert opinions.

the majority of the important stuff is inthe 'bowl' and impossible to photograph unless the valves are out.

I have taken like 20 pics already, but they keep turning out blurry, Its hard to get a good pic from far away, but from up close it is blurry as hell... I am going out to the garage to try some more.
