Robby, That was with 265/35/18's, stock 951 five speed, and about 6800-6900 rpms. mph was within 2mph. Could've been 193 or 195. Too busy hanging on for dear life and contemplating getting arrested...again.
By the way, Michelle, your a criminal defense attorney? (Big Smile). Can you help me in case I get a ticket in Illinois?

W/a 25.3 RD- (265/35/18) @ 7000 rpms, I'm getting 187mph- not trying to discredit you though- I'm sure you're car is HELLA fast & there are a few variables at higher speeds... BTW- did you ever get together w/Kurt's turbo charged 968 3.1L Milledge built 951? Would LOVE to hear how that turned out- I'd kill just to be able to SEE a 951 w/>400HP, much less OWN one...

Robby, I don't know how to figure that out but others have and said I'm about right. All I know is that I do have a brand new calibrated 220mph speedo from North Hollywood Speedometer and that's what it read. Never got together on the street or dyno with Kurt. Met him at the German autofest though. Nice guy. Cool car. He challenged me to a race but I'm giving the car away and don't want anything to happen to it. It's not really even mine anymore. I offered to meet at a dyno but he said the dyno doesn't mean anything. Still a nice guy.

Hey man- the formula I'VE always used, & I do NOT claim it to be perfect, is:
RD X RPM X 2.96 / FD X gear ratio X 1000 = speed
So, 25.3 x 2.96 x 7000 / .83 x 3.38 x 1000 = speed
So, 524281.2598 / 2805 = speed
So, 186.9 = speed
AGAIN- I am NOT trying to dispute your claim though, as I DO know that some variables occur at higher speeds, as well as that formula not being PERFECT, etc- IT IS possible that your speedo is ON & the tach could be off slightly- maybe several hundred rpms low, thus causing a slight discrepancy, etc(?)... At any rate, w/that much HP, I have no prob believing such a high claim anyway...
I had e-mailed Kurt a few weeks back, who said something about seeing you, I think, but didn't mention the race stuff- he's always been a very good guy & has never said anything negative about you or your car either- I was under the impression that the two of you would get a chance at a later date- maybe not w/the raffle situation as of now though- oh well- not THAT big of a deal...

Michelle- do you ever mess w/this stuff in any OTHER states? Can you? for instance, let's say, oh, I don't know...maybe in TN? You never know... I have to say, though that 41mph getting someone a YEAR in jail is f**cking LUDICROUS! I'm afraid to say anymore as I might incriminate myself in some way... Thank God for defense attorney's & firearms...

Hello from FL. I used to work for Moss Codilis here in Orlando, which also has affiliate firms in IL. Are you familiar with Ernie Codilis??? I believe it is Codilis & Associates in IL. Mostly real estate law, foreclosure, bk, etc.

I would also think, in working out top speeds....that if you've been driving a bit and the air in the tires is getting quite warm that the increased pressure could cause the circumference of the tire to expand slightly as if overinflated (not sure how much this happens on high quality performance tires) and could thus give you more mph per revs, although only slightly, but it could be enough for a few mph difference at very high speeds......

Never thought about that. I had the tires set at 28 psi to compensate for heat during the run. I run SO2's. Great tires.
Michelle, I was just wondering as I get a ticket(I shouldn't be telling you this) on average of once a month, sometimes twice. Have a great lawyer. Not a mark on my record in the last five years. Got arrested once for speeding though it was about 7 years ago. I just know in WI, when I got a ticket, it stuck with me and as far as I know, IL is the same. So, if and when I make it back, I'd like to know....just in case I have to look you up...if it's the same and if you can help.
