Default Anyone willing to sell their Rogue Tuner?

LR can't answer my questions and I (and apparently they) can't reach Joshua after about a month of trying so I'm just going to see if I can tune the car to run myself. I would switch to stand alone but I already have so much sunk in this that just gaining the ability to tune this setup seems like the shortest route to success. The problem is that I can't buy the tuner from Rogue... so I'm hoping someone here can help me out.

Thanks in advance!

From what I understand If you have the Lindsey M Tune then all you need is the ostrich 2.0 and a laptop with Tuner Pro RT installed on it. There isn't any special " tuner" needed for the newer M Tune.

How do you actually write the tune to the chip? What hardware is needed?

OK, so some research and I've ordered the following:

Ostrich 2.0
Socket Booster

I've downloaded the files I believe I need and I already have a wideband.

I've also purchased the Rogue Logger from LR so I'll work on hooking that up in the next few days.

The last thing I need to figure out is a knock counter. Searching hasn't really yielded me a concrete answer yet. I saw that some people were using a Curtis counter, but the link didn't work. I found this Curtis Counters but I beleive the signal from #15 is 5v and these all read above that so I'm still not sure. Honestly, just a light showing I received a knock would probably work well enough for me since I don't want any if I can help it, but I can't find anything on that yet. Anyone?

I guess I'm off on a grand adventure!

Keep us posted how you make out.

I have both the LR and original M-tunes but I'm currently working on both cars engines.

Chuck,

Be warned - I'm not speaking from experience, just research. I have an M tune sitting on the shelf and it came with the Ostrich 2.0 interface - this thing.

it also came with a ribbon type cable that had a 28 PIN chip emulator at the end of it - this:

I'm missing the USB cable that goes here:

but it's been ordered adn should be here soon.

Then get software from here:

That last link looks like it has some good info on the counter. I'll have to work on that, thanks for the links!

Do you have the LR M Tune or the original M Tune? If you have the LR M Tune, the maps are open and you can use the Ostrich with Tuner Pro to tune your car. If you have the original M Tune you will need a Rouge Tuner (modified DME) to use the Ostrich.

I don't think the curtis counter is still available. I purchased this:

I have the LR M-Tune, so it looks like I'll be able to tune it.

Thanks for the heads up on the counter, I'll check that out.

I'm totally failing on the Logger. I can't get the software to see the box at all so I'm not sure I'll be able to use it. If it did, I would have to figure out how the three wires on the box correspond to the two different colored wires in Rogue's instructions. What a mess. I'm not sure, but it looks like I might be able to log from the Ostrich once it''s up and running. I hope so since the logger seems to have been a waste of money.

Also, does anyone know if the FQS for the Rogue Tune is the same as stock? I remember seeing a chart for the NA that was just pulling/adding fuel all the way through, not timing.

I read through the thread and I'm going to get one. Did you just splice into #15 or did you need to do any additional wiring? Did you figure out the dip switches?

Joshua pointed me to the FQS settings, they were on the installation sheet but I missed it. Here they are for those that find this by searching.
