Question Manual operation of power seat

I have the 4-way power drivers seat and it only goes down in the front using the motors. Is there someway to adjust the seat height, front and rear, manually?

Nope. Welcome to the joys of full power seats.

I just went through this and ended up replacing 2 switches. The front/back driver side bench switch, and the backrest tilt passenger switch. Driver's was a bear because the seat switch had died in such a way that it would only slide forward, making access to the rail bolts complicated.

I found that there are some holes in the rails to access the bolts, but took a leap of faith by sliding the seat all the way forward to undo the bolts. If I hadn't been able to undo them, the car would have been undriveable.

BTW, the switches are pretty expensive. With a little patience, the contacts can be cleaned and you can test them to see if they work before replacing with new ones. I did this with my used switches after the fact, so I wasn't able to test them.

you can remove the front plastic cover and apply power to the motor or remove the flex cables from the motor and turn manually.
Item 31 controls the rear, Item 32 the front.

p.s. the stupid thing to me is that it appears you have to unplug the switches from under the seat somehow and fish the wire out. one would guess that the wires would have a plug that terminates at the switch

The switch comes with the wires that connect to the relay beneath the seat. I don't think you will be able to remove those wire without removing the seat first. We sell the 2 way switch for 52$usd

unfortunately the wires/harnesses are soldered to the switches and then zip tied to the seat frame. If you are going to replace them you have to pull the seats. Why they could not put a connector at the switch I'll never understand, just like 928 window switches.

It is a pain in the butt, and yes, removing the seat helps. I removed mine, cut the ties to give slack and removed the switch enough to tear it apart, clean, adjust the contacts and reassemble. Been working fine for a year now. You really should know how a switch works and be careful before you tear into one or you will have a handfull of useless parts.

For a temp fix to at least move the seat to a comfortable position, if you reverse the wires on either motor, then operate the switch, the seat will move.
