Default What suspension would you spend 500$ on.

I've read the suspension threads and I know what's out there. But I'd like some opinions on what street drivers would buy with a 500 buck limit. My car has up to date m030 suspension with nearly the whole bushing set and major wear parts replaced within 1k miles.

So as far as after market stuff who would buy what and why?

968M030 Sway Bars. You may have to look for used to stay within your $500 budget.

1ea Racers edge front M030 hub. 7x stronger. Elephant racing Polybronze Spring plate bearings. Racers edge solid rear sway bar mount. LR chassis brace. Monoball trading arm bearings. Front sway bar stiffener if you have stiff front springs. Monoball rear mount for the front control arm. Some are under $500.

I was under the impression the turbo S sways and the 968 were the same? Am I wrong there?

What's the advantage of Lindsey's chassis brace over a traditional strut tower brace?

I think the 951S front sway bar is 26.5mm and the 968 m030 front sway bar for sure is 30mm and matches nicely with the 19mm rear sway bar with the three way adjustment. The LR chassis brace links the front control arms rear mounts together. The strut tower brace is the other brace your taking about. That's above the engine not below like the chassis brace.

Turbo S front bar is 26.8mm. The 968 M030 front bar was originally a hollow 30mm bar but now H&R is making the bar for Porsche and it's a 28.5mm solid design. The rear 968 M030 bar is 19mm and has 3 adjustment holes.

For $500 you're really limited to just improving what you have. I just did this so I can speak from experience.

First thing I would do is order new tie rods, the ball joint rebuild kit from RennBay,
Delrin steering rack bushings, and new front wheel bearings.

Finally go get a track alignment should run you about $150. You should be able to do this for pretty close to $500 All In this will make a bigger difference for you than any other $500 addition in my opinion.

You will be shocked at how tight the steering is after doing all this, there will be no slop and it will be a very direct feel. The wheel won't be heavy to turn anymore it'll be very light.

As I said in first post everything is fresh. New wheelbearings new stock front control arm bushings.
Alignment. Power steering rebuild new stock front sway bar bushings. Kelly Trans mount new Koni sports in the rear. Also brakes are up to snuff as well. All within the last 1k miles hell of even replaced the CVS

It seems for my price a set of 968 sway bars is my best bet. I'm looking to tighten up side to side movement on hard corners. I have the lindsey underdrive on the power steering and since rebuilding the rack the steering feel is great I'm not so much worried about steering response

Have you invested in fuel lines yet? If not I would definitely put fresh fuel lines on the car. Then a monoball rear trailing arm bushing and if you have any extra you can get darlin bushings for the spring plate. But there are many ways to spend $500 real fast on any Porsche let alone a 951. The 951 desires its own bank account. Make sure it's checking, there's no savings with these if you want to upkeep them right and still drive them daily. Or modify them, which will take a lot of your life away.

I went with the klr strut brace. a 968 rear sway (ebayed at 140$ i think i won there) and am in the process of ordering the lindsey monoball control arm mounts (rear). ended up at around 600 instead of 5 but from the input here and searching the other 944 forums i think this will get me the best bang for the low buck at this time.

I think next go around ill invest in the bronze pivots and front sway bar

Edit: fat finger pressed wrong button
