Need a couple bolt and screw sizes
I'm getting the car back into shape after having most of it apart and I'm missing a bolt and some machine screws. I'm hoping someone here knows the sizes so I can snag them from the hardware store.
I need the size for the screws that hold the airbox lid on and the bolt that holds the oil dipstick tube to the intake manifold.
Anyone know?

The bolt for the dipstick is an M6 and I found it helps to get it seated if you file/taper the first few threads so that the bolts can partially seat before you start turning it.
Cant help you with the airbox though... havent had oneof those in a long time....it was near the front of the car right ??

I was able to substitute one of the 10mm bolts that holds the plastic belly pan for the bolts that hold the air filter box together. Anybody have specs on the belly pan bolts?

Both are M6 bolts. Bolt sizes are defined by the diameter of the threaded post, not the head. So the 10mm head is really an 6mm bolt. Length is probably around a 15-20mm post. So Im guessing your looking for a M6x15 or M6x20. Dont worry about thread pitch, there is only one common pitch for the metric bolts (Not like SAE where you have NC and NF)
You will not find an identical slot head screw for the air box at a hardware store, but you can find M6 pan head or allen head screws/bolts that will work. Otherwise its off to the dealership for a $.50 screw.
Just bring the bolts/screws you need to the hardware store and get the closest match.

Thanks! As usual, I'm 733 miles away from the car and trying to gather the things I'll need during my free time. So your help has been priceless.

Thanks for the education Oddjob. I was going to ask what all the M# business was, but you read my mind.
