Default 951 wheel size options

I am thinking about upgrading to 17" wheels, particularly ROH Zs's, are there any disadvantages to a 17" wheel? I know there are a lot more tire options in 17's but I'm thinking the wheels will be heavier than my club sports and I'm not too sure how the chassis dynamics will change. my other option would be to just buy RE-11's in the correct size and call it a day. Has anyone noticed any adverse effects of running 17's?

I know this is just another comment from the peanut gallery, but your Club Sports are great wheels that let people know you have a special car. I would absolutely keep them and put some new RE-11s on.

I went with 17s. Picked a set of used forgelines for cheap, and currently running 245/45 and 270/40 tires.

The forgelines were actually lighter than the replica turbo twists the car came with. (Also 17s)

The club sports will give the car the best street ride but tire selection is very limited also 17s offer more choices I have speedlines in 17s love the look but love the ride/feel of the club sports better

If you are talking about the wheels in your profile pic they don't look to have the original anodised finish, if they have been skimmed the spokes could have been weakened. Skimmed Clubsport wheels have been known to fail.

Not sure how they were polished but it was done in 1989, the receipt is from the dealer that the car was originally purchased from new. I think they look better with the original finish but I don't think that's possible anymore, I hope they haven't been compromised, I guess if they made it this far I'll trust them.

Sound good, I've seen them where the scallop marks have almost been machined out and the spokes are very thin.

Personally, I would love to have a rear pair of 16X8 D90s up front and a set of 16X9 D90s on the rear.

225f and 245r tires, or maybe 245f and 265r. They would be 200tw or lower, and should provide you with more grip than you'll ever be able to use on the street.

Ordered re-11's today 225-50-16 and 245-45-16, I'm going to clean up the club sports and stick with them. Thank you everyone for the input. I'll post some pictures when I get them mounted up.
