I know nothing about this but I'm breathing heavy and need to know more.

Could be the color combination and oh so much room for activities.

Need details on this trans swap... I can see it's on a custom frame, but I've dreamed about a 986 or 987 trans swap for a long time that would hopefully be straightforward and not expensive to adapt.

Pretty sure it's the same pattern as the 944 016, so it should bolt to the torque tube. Input shaft probably isn't the right length so you'll have to adapt that. Adapt mounting and shifter. Could use cable shifter for ease of adaptability.

Can you illuminate us a little further. Linky not working.

I must be the only person who doesn't rate the sound of the VW V6 motor. Must get my ears checked.

Food for thought for your car Patrick? Moving away from the archaic trailing arm set up must have been on your wish list for a long time now hey?

Looks like there's a lot of space for a nice big rear diffuser too.

I think it looks fantastic. Wonder how much tq a new Porsche paddle box would handle?

Fit and finish looks super nice! But I don't really understand the reason behind this engine? I can't see any benefit except maybe cheaper parts. Very nice photos and display etc and I'm happy to see development on these cars! But the "unsurpassed performance" typ of taglines makes me cringe

Very nice execution but vw 1.8 turbo is inside every second golf/passat/audi etc and is more problematic than 944 stock 2.5.

I'd love to see AMG CLA45 engine in 944.

It is not without it's problems, but I dare say there is a larger aftermarket supporting that engine. And it carries a lower replacement and build cost than the M44. Although that is somewhat tempered by the cost of the swap.

And I doubt we will ever see a practical application of the CLA45 engine, just due to the massive amounts of electronics modern engines require.

Being in every golf/passat/audi/etc is one of the main benefits, the engines are everywhere so they're cheap and plentiful! Much more so than a 951 engine. Easier to find/much larger aftermarket/cheaper to build/higher power potential. All engines have problems, I wouldn't say the 1.8T is any more problematic than a 951 engine. 1.8T problems are just more pronounced since they're in so many cars with ****ty owners that don't perform regular maintenance.

Then it's just down to costs, e.g. cheaper. 1.8L is way too small displacement, it's super laggy even in stock form in a Audi A3. Nah.. 3l 16v turbo is the way to go for unsurpassed performance
