Gorgeous, I want a turbo cup so bad.

But one question - why is the centre hood latch still there if the hood pins are also there? Is it a back up ?

Rich,
Yes, safety feature. The latch pin and release cable ar not installed in the Cup cars however. That way there is a 2-step opening, like on the road cars.
BTW the car is for sale.

Hi Scott,
It is a real Cup car (mine, the white one), raced 1987-1990 in the French Cup series. It was the car lent to celebrity pilots, meaning it was driven by a long list of famous pilots. It also had higher maintenance while it was raced, and had more HP than the 305 allowed by the rules (invited would not mark points, but could not look bad). It has about 320HP.
regards

How much are you asking, not that I will be bringing it across the pond... I go green with envy every time I see one and dream of the day that I can nab one of the Canadian ones.

About 28.5K$ with the spares. See:
http://www.nicholas-moss.co.uk/porsc...o_cup_car.html
If this seems like a for sale ad, then please Moderator move it to where it belongs.
Regards.

You know, I could swing $28.5 for it, but I could never get it EPA certified so that I could drive the darned thing... GAWD, I hate that! The last Canadian Cup car I tracked down that was for sale, they wanted $40k for, and it had no spares and was not nearly as nice.

Man, I am depressed now...

Oh, and John D., please leave this thread here, its VERY on topic, as far as I am concerned. Its a piece of Porsche history that we are discussing, not a blatant sales pitch.
