I did that on my early car years ago, as well as all new stone guards. The stone guards were worse because they were checked - so they came off 1/4" at a time. BUT - it's that kind of stuff that just elevates the whole car. This looks awesome!!! Great job!

Two years.. not bad lol

In the time between, did you put a lot of miles on? I've got tiny cracks in the hood paint (and general degradation) over ten years of daily driving without the pads and always wondering if the lack of that insulation is the cause...

1/4" thickness?
Any clearance issues closing the hood with the strut brace and pad?
