Default Coil Pack / Wasted Spark Location

Looking to see wheres a good / clean spot to put my Vitesse WS coil. Currently have it near the hood latch, but I wanted to relocate it into a more clean / clutter free spot. Looking to contact Magnecor for a custom set of wires. I was thinking the battery tray area but might not be plausible because of the dread tray rust issue ( need to address it as well ). Pics and documentation would be greatly appreciated!

The most logical spot would be where the factory distributor was located.
If you don't have cruise control, you might be able to fit it on/near the firewall, in front of the battery.

If you dont use The washfluid bottle or a smaller one you can relocate it there. You don't have the vitesse bracket ?

I've wanted to put a WS coil pack where the cruise control servo goes...out of the way of everything, and close enough to run the plug wires around from the back of the head...

I was thinking about putting it there. just worried about the length of the spark plug wires decreasing performance

this might be the plan, currently have my boost control solenoid there but I can relocate the easier. Got a cool CEP distributor cap / cover i really wanna use to match my CEP fuel rail, LOL

Thanks for all the suggestions

You probably don't want to do this to the CEP distributor cap/cover ( I assume this is the blank cover used when deleting the distributor), but you can probably drill and tap it to hold either a custom fabricated mounting bracket or bolt the coil pack directly to it, using spacer sleeves to make it sit level.

Have you tried to get just the mounting bracket from John?

Not the usual WS towers, but these are where my LS coils are. On a 951 though, I'd worry about high temps from the headers.

We initially used a plate similar to where Jarod's is located. Then as car developed, moved it down to where washer bottle was located.

Some incredible looking engine bays! Thanks for all the suggestions. I might go ahead and mount where the cruise control used to be or go near the blower area near the hood cowel.

I put mine where the airbox went, using the same mount holes. Stock replacement length ignition wires fit perfectly.

Cant find the better shot that I know I have.

Spark is traveling trough cable at near light speed so you can put the coil packs wherever you want and it won't be any different. You should route cables away from sensor cables though as it might cause interference.

+1
doesn't matter at the lengths and voltages being dealt with here
look up a spark wire set for a ford 4.6 with EDIS (wasted spark)...some of the wires are 4.5 feet long.

That bay is so cleaned up and efficient.
