Is "Widebody" an option, an after-market, what?

quick update (i'm kinda beat from driving or i'd give more details)

all that's left is: bleed front brakes, adjust front camber & tighten nut on top of strut, windshield (friday morning), wire up TEC3's CEL, seat bracket issue (ugh), hm, i'm tired but i think that's about it. oh yeah and hook up the illumination wire for the boost gauge (and probably 50 other little things like that). like hooking up the power-window switches on the dash (on order, we needed a pair of DPDT ones so we could have separate circuits for up/down). i'm sure final shakedown will take weeks if not months, but chris and i are both CONVINCED that it will be on the road for rough tuning no later than this saturday!!! I got new plates @ DMV, a new registration sticker (for the new windshield) and a 10-day inspection extension, so we're close

i'm hoping to get outta work early enough saturday to get down to chris's and take some pics before i get caught up wanting to drive it, we'll see

The 951 lives again!!

I got down to chris's around 7:45, we tinkered for a bit, installed the new hood pins, bled the brakes, did a bit of wiring work, and by approx 10:45-11pm-ish chris said, hey, I think it's time to take her out!

We drove about 20-25 miles, the TEC3 just doesn't stop amazing me. Between Chris's awesome base-map and his knowledge of the WinTEC software / tuning in general, the thing ran GREAT from the word 'go' - a billion times better than it EVER did with my old digital MAF, and this is still a raw / rough / approximate tune!!! We actually got to play with a little positive manifold pressure, loading the engine with a little straight-line left-foot braking, up to between .8 and 1-ish bar - it spools SO much earlier than I expected, we were making some serious power by about 32-3400 rpm, and even with my foot on the brake, it felt positively BRUTAL. While I had horsepower goals first going into this project, at this point, the numbers mean next to nothing to me, I just know it's going to be a frighteningly fast car We never even made it near/over 4000 rpm, as I'm trying to take it easy as we do a shakedown.

Now to wrap up a few minor wiring things that we ran out of time for, and a few mechanical tweaks here and there, and she'll hopefully see at least one or two track events before the end of the year *crosses fingers*!!

Wow...that car has them child-bearing hips! But, I think thats sexy too. Get it running- and stop treating her like an undeserving tramp.
