WRX is the pick for AWD but if speed you want go with the 951.
As for the BMW what hp you got pretty much chip/filter/exhaust and that's it.
For the turbo's 951 and WRX mods are abound!

I'd choose the BMW, if it was going to be my only car. Maintenance is a real-life issue, and I would want reliability at the top of my list for a daily driver.
I'm not a fan of the subi. I think the styling won't wear well. JMHO.
The 951 is a good car, and I've lived with both a 944 and a 951 as daily driver in the past, but I wouldn't recommend that over a much newer M3.

An E36 M3 and a stock 951 Turbo S have essentially the same 0-60 and quarter mile times. The M3 will be a bit faster than a non-S Turbo. However, the M3 will be much easier to launch off the line with its low-end torque. Once you start adding relatively simple mods to the 951 (chip, MAF/MAP, etc.) then the 951 becomes a much quicker car.

I have a 97 M3 and an 86 951. Both have somewhat similar handling characteristics. I do almost all my own work on the two cars - coilovers, control arms, bushings, timing belts, etc. IMHO the 951 apart from the clutch is the easier of the 2 to work on and cheaper due to the low cost of used parts. My M3 now has over 300 NA hp (260ish rwhp) with bolt on mods that have cost close to 10k to achieve. The 944 can get there in less than 1/3 to 1/4 the cost. Looks wise, I also have to give the edge to the 951, but reliability to the M3. Close to 6k track miles on it and no failures ever. The WRX has it's own pluses (I have never driven one) but one might also consider the sleeper Neon SRT that is even cheaper to get into with as much potential as well.

BTW, as far as track and racing the 944 also has the widest option for tires of the 3 cars - you can go 16, 17, or 18" and wider than 275mm tires on the rear. The M3 is limited to 255 without mods.

Pretty much.
The WRX is alot newer, shouldn't have any problems for a while.
The 951 is very easy to upgrade, its reliable if you know what your doing, and its the sexiest one of the three.
The M3 is the least likely of my choice, because of the price of parts, reliability. It's quick stock, but thats all your going to get unless you have money to put a DINAN s/c in the car.
