If your running 15 psi you will lose. You will need at least 18psi to run with him, in my opinion, and make sure its off a roll. As much as I like our cars the corvette is a fast car stock and depending on how much you modify them they can dust about anything. Chevy V8's have endless potential.

Here is my story of a run with a C5 off the light last year....I had just got my car and take into account that my car has a few more mods and it is gutted...but here is the story....I got out of getting a haircut on a sunny saturday morning and pulled up to a light with a yellow C5 convertable....I gave the driver a rev and he looked over at my 944 and started laughing....I thought to myself i am going to give this jackass something to laugh about in a couple seconds....I revved up to about 3000 and sat there waiting for the light to turn green....anyways light turned green and sure enough we both took off...1st gear i had maybe 1/3rd of a car on him, but after that it was all history, 2nd i pulled some more and 3rd even more until i had him beat pretty bad....i shut off as i shifted into 4th cause the speed limit was 45 and i was WAY over...anyways we got to the next light and Mr. C5 had his top down so proceded to bust his ego some more...i said to him..."Now what was so funny about that?" So in conclusion, i think you stand a good chance at beating him!

Reno, if your around my area, give me a shout. I'd be happy to watch and video tape the race. ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
But, you should be able to take all of them. The RX-7 shouldn't be that much trouble. Out of the factory its only around 260hp.

This is like a chess match, my cousin just changed his exhaust, added a boost controler, and intake system and is looking to change the mid pipe on the RX-7. Holy crap!! But he's the quiet one, I'll just leave that one alone and concentrate on the vette. V944god, what town do you live in, I'm in Montclair/Clifton border. Reno

Most 'Vette drivers are torque people (V-8 and all) and they have a tendancy (the few that tun their cars) of shifting too soon. Accel. is usually always a factor of power to weight (given equal drivers and some other minor BS). Weigh both cars and have the C5 driver shift at/near redline and to take the clutch out of the picture, do this on a roll. Several staring/ending speeds, if you want. Remember, the C5 has less drag and this will play a part above 100-120, or so. If you pull him and vehicle weight is similar (I think C5's are 3200-3300), or so, you win. They have an actual 345 h/p. Power to weight is fairly linear so then do the math. Oh yeah, if you want am unfair advantage, cold day and/or altitude should favor the turbo more than a N/A car.

DEFINATELY!!! A nice brisk morning. This will also give you some margin of safety if you turn the boost up. Roughly, every 20 degree ambiant drop in temp allows for 1 more pound of boost to be run safely.

That's a great story, 944TURBOS. In reference to others on the subject, I don't know if our cars are that much better under braking or turning, The C5 is worlds ahead of the C4. I've witnessed some great handling capabilities at AUTOX and track work by newer stock vettes.
