Default Another new(ish) build

New to the forum have been following it for over 2 years waiting for stop start build on my 1988 turbo to be completed. What started out as a simple refresh to use the car for track days has somehow morphed into a full rebuild and upgrade...

Started with pulling the engine for a check and new pistons and rods. Scored bores lead to sourcing a new block and machining it to match new Wossner pistons and Carillo rods. New custom turbo in k28 housing, injectors, fuel pump, fuel rail, ignition and while we were at It a motec ECU with associated sensors and CSL dash to update the computing power.

Gas out through a Fab speed exhaust and Lindsay racing waste gate. Turbo fed through custom PWR inter cooler with Tiial blow off valve and lots of custom piping. Cooling custom PWR radiator and fans with front mounted oil cooler and custom catch can for oil and water.

Lindsay racing solid engine and gearbox mounts , short shift kit and a few other bits and pieces.
Suspension a combination of Racers Edge; front control arms, camber plates solid mounts. Elephant Racing ;solid mounts and bushes. Plus a few custom bushes from Super Pro. Pretty much all solid mount or rose jointed now.
Ohlin front shocks and Bilstein rear rebuilt and re valved to custom specs. Rear top mounts welded and braced. Front top and bottom strut braces.

Turbo s brakes with pagid pads.

Half cage with rear seats removed and front Sparco Evo seats with harness.

New lightweight Sachs flywheel and clutch to put the power down through LSD and Simmons wheels with Yokohama ADO5 R specs.

Running .7 bar boost on low setting 1 bar high. Turbo optimised to run at 1.2 bar but hitting the numbers already so going conservative. Running 1 bar Dyno atw 239kw @ 5800 rpm 450nm torque @ 4000 rpm.

All the work has been done by the boys at City Performance Center in Sydney. Taken a while but the quality and attention to detail is top notch. They have come up with some different solutions to the problems faced with updating a 1988 car to 2015 technology.

Summary really undersells the work that has gone into this project over the last 2 years. Just hope the driver can live up to the potential once it is run in and bugs ironed out... currently managing some water temp issues on the track...

Nice car!

Which Motec ecu are you using and what are the details on the computer side? I see you're using clewett crank and cam trigger setup, had any problems in setting it up?

Nice car mate!

Good to see more sweet Aussie builds.

Are you running without a front sway bar, or is it just not installed yet in that photo?

Very nice stealth looking car!

I would run a hardpipe from the calipers to the front strut and rear trailingarm and after that the braided hose you got like Porsche did on the Turbo S/M030 and Cup cars. Works wonders on fading issues.
