I finally had a chance to stop by C9 today on the way to the airport. They have just about all of the leather cut & stitched ready for installation over the next few weeks.

All of the pieces I saw today were beautifully stitched & I was happy to see how well organized all of the interior parts were on their own shelving rack.

It was a little strange seeing the interior stripped, but also nice to see how clean & original everything that is typically hidden was - the C9 guys were definitely impressed also.

Here are some progress pics:

I can't wait to see it in person. I take it that is the new "9" shop.

Tasteful as always.

Thanks Jim.

Yes - its the new facility on Beach Daly. Just learned yesterday that C9 and Rod Klighofer (Hof Designs) are partnered in this location. Rod is the craftsman that cuts & stitches all of the leather.

Sh**.... I shipped a dash to him on Saturday, using this address:

7250 Drexel St
Dearborn Heights, Michigan 48127

which is what's listed on the C9 site. Guess I need to clear that up...

Not to worry.... That is Bob's home shop address, where they do a lot of the covering.

Hey Nurburger,

I have heard that many people make the decision to keep the dash in a matching vinyl for the beating that it takes even in a northern climate. Noticing your attention to detail, I am sure you considered this, and I was curious on your reasoning as I will venture down this path in the future. Thx!

Jase -

The potential for any leather damage caused by exposure to the elements wasn't even considered in my decision to go with the full leather treatment. There are many products on the market provide all the necessary protection to keep the leather conditioned and supple with regular treatment.

I'll plan on 2 applications a year of Olbenhauf's & 303 protectant (which provides excellent UV protection).

Nurburger, what a fantastic 951. Love the color, wheels, and stance. Wouldn't change a thing. I'm looking for a decent 951, possible daily driver style.

Thanks...

Good luck with your search for a 951. If your going to drive it daily, I'd highly recommend you buy the best maintained one you can find. They don't seem to come up for sale as often now.

Glad to hear you're having them do the upper seam where the factory did: only around the binnacle.

As I've said before (somewhere on this forum..), car looks magnificent!

Yes 1 set left!

LOVE what this guy has done with the interior.

I have an 89 Baltic blue with Marine blue/linen interior that will be getting the dash redone in the future.

So, after a lot of recent travel I finally picked up the 951 from Classic 9 yesterday.... I'm very pleased with the job they did - few minor trim items to get sorted, but Rod's sewing & trimming is first rate. THe new leather really finished the car off for me.

Here are some detail pics taken this morning:
