Will the oil filter mount/cooler console thing from an 86 turbo work on an S2 block, provided you use the S2 OPRV?

Or must one source an S2 oil filter mount?

The oil filter/thermostat housing is the same for all years of the turbo. The oil pressure regulator is dependent on the block. There are only two versions of the oil pressure regulator regardless if the engine was turbo or NA, 86 and earlier, and 87 onward. You will have no issue using an 86 turbo filter/thermostat housing on an S2 block with a pressure relief valve meant to fit the S2.

I also checked the PET and it does show the same PN for the filter mount for all years 951, for anyone in the future searching...
