Question A-tune chip board

Does anyone have or know where I can get the chip board that goes between the DME and the chip for the Rouge chips? I got a used A-tune from a lister and apparently it didn't come with it, I have E-mails to Josh and the lister, but if anyone has one please let me know I'll buy it. It's the last thing I need to get my car back on the road!

I'm sitting on an A-chip right now & haven't installed it yet. I didn't know anything about this. I would also like to know about this.

Yea, check your hardware the kit should have a MAP sensor, chip, and chip board. I got my kit used and it's missing the chip board, you need the board for it to work. You can see in the pic the chip plugs into that middle board and then into the DME

Just a guess here, but are you running an early (24pin) ECU? If so I believe the missing board will be to enable the 28 pin Rogue chip to fit. My ECU is a late 28pin one and I didn't need or get a secondary board with my A-Tune setup. Perhaps the PO of your chip had a 28-pin ECU also...

I think all rouge tuning chips use this board, you have to convert the DME to 28 pin anyway, that's not what this board does

To me this board looks like just an fixed extender so that free standing pins on converted dme dont get damaged when you remove the chip for the first time.

Negitive, I believe the board makes it so you can use the map sensor, if you look at these pics it looks like an extra chip is on the bottom

The A-tune is $300 if you buy it complete from Josh. IMO I don't think it's his responsibility to sell you parts of a kit that he developed for cheap.

Actually Josh has been very helpfull and has been in contact with me the entire time, Great guy. I offered to pay him, and if I have to I'll pay full price, Id never expect anything for free or cheap, fact is he has to build them and has none in stock, I wish there was an easier way but doesnt seem like
Many people have A-tune kits sitting around

Josh didn't always use a chip board. My early A-tune chips didn't have one, but it might have only been very early that didn't have it and only Josh would be able to tell you if you need one or not.

I think the chip board acts as a decryption key. The chip itself is encrypted so it can't be used if copied. You can't buy the chipboard unless you know the encryption key.

Makes sense as the newer tunes utilize open maps, which suggests the maps were locked at one point.

Yes, the board is related to the encryption. I don't think Josh has ever locked the maps as he is very supportive of people being able to tune themselves. He has however, rewritten most, if not all, of the DME's code, which is what he protects with the encryption.
