Default Please help with coil overs....

So i found these on Ebay I am seriously considering these because of the price. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221804764761?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT What do you guys think. Question: if I put coil overs on my 951 can i leave my torsion bars on or do i have the option of using them in conjunction with my coil overs.

Doesn't tell your rear spring rate so hard to answer.

Quality of these? not a clue.

"When looking for upgrades for my Porsche I look for the cheapest stuff I can find, from unknown brands with dubious origins"

Or

"When I buy upgrades I look for the best price for quality, proven & tested products, from trusted brands that I know will work"

Your call

Try them and post your review. The fact is if no one tries products from outside their known venders for our cars companies wont keep making them anymore. And when or if your known venders move on your left with no options. That said, quality is quality. It's definitely a dice roll.

If that's a photo of the real items the rear shocks will not mount up. Be advised.

It's not. The ad says the photos are just a stock image. The 3 bolt camber plates are a give away too that its a stock photo.

Copy paste...

I've never heard of this brand before. It could be good. or could be junk.
I have a good mate who is a suspension supplier so he knows what's made where.

It's common to see chinese junk distributed as "quality" products with a high price.
For example there's a company here in aus that sell rebranded chinese shocks/coilovers. The quality is ok - not bad. nothing special. But what they do is get the generic shock and build the rest for you for your car.

Who knows, they could be good. best to see if they're tested and been though a quality control.

So they will not even provide a picture of the correct set for the Porsche 944, well that builds confidence!

Also:
What are the spring rates supplied?
What is the spring diameter? (that might limit the spring rates you can get)
What reinforced rear bottom mount do they supply with the set?
Will they rebuild them when needed or do you have to just buy another set?
What is the customer service number? Do they speak English? Do they know what a Porsche 944 looks like?

Springs are cheap, I have them going from 600 lbs to 1100 lbs, and change them out per conditions.

You don't need to re-enforce the bottom mount. Go to Racers Edge and get their adapter to allow room for the coil

For under $1000, it's probably just as cheap to buy new.

Go try a set and give us your feed back.

Are you deleting the torsion bar?

99% chance it's a generic shock set made in China, with ends made to fit as wide a variety of cars as possible (range of shock length/travel, width of eyes/bushings).

it might work fine, but its not going to be ideal which you really want if youre going to go with full coilovers, otherwise whats the point?

You can always do this http://www.ground-control-store.com/...p/II=77/CA=219 if your front struts aren't blown, and this http://www.ground-control-store.com/.../II=749/CA=219 setup for the rear for the same $$$ and it actually fits properly and plenty of people have been using this setup for a while.

Quote from vendor:

" We start with a Ground Control designed rear lower shock mount. Machined from high carbon steel, and using a grade 8 bolt, this rear lower mount is designed to carry the weight of the car after springs are added to the shock."
