Apexi AVCR setup questions

Apexi AVCR setup questions
After searching the old threads I couldnt find the answers to these two questions on how to setup the AVCR for a 944:
How many Speed Pulses for 944's (2,4,8,16 etc)?
Which Throttle Voltage do we set for 944's (up arrow or down arrow) ?
I know there is a test for throttle voltage within the Apexi but mine didnt change as expected when the throttle is opened so I may have something else to look into there.
Any help appreciated.

"How many Speed Pulses for 944's (2,4,8,16 etc)? "
The muliplier is actually six (6), so your MPH reading will always be off.
"Which Throttle Voltage do we set for 944's (up arrow or down arrow) ? "
It should be the up-arrow.

Done, on the way. You have to wait a sec for page 3.5,4, and 5 They are scans of the manuals and APEX installtion guide, which I also have if you need copies. Thanks to Dave McGrath

Danno, Thanks, that is the info I was after. I am surprised that I had not heard of the inaccurate speed display on the forums before now.
Matt I already have the documentation that comes with the avcr so no need to scan those, thanks for the rest.

You are going to be at TWS for the DE in November, right? I think I am moving to New Braunfels around that time but I will be there.

Yes I should be at the Nov TWS DE, I was talking to Jason yesterday and he is still expecting to take his 968 there as well.
I am booked into the drivers edge DE at TWS in October also.
New Braunfels eh, thats pretty close by, that'll warrant a get together.

If I move there I will be running one of our stores, so there will be shop access. It'll warrant a big get together. A group of us are planning to meet the weekend of the 18th in BCS. I will likely be there on the 12th for the Ferrari Challenge as well.

Hi,
last but not least.
AVC-R is not compatible with 951 Speedo signal, no matter the speed pulses you have set, at least in Km/Hour view.
Two major issues have to stress here:
The AVC-R does not provide gear based boost as unit is often promoted.
The AVC-R provides only RPM based boost and hopefully your stock wastegate supports target boost in levels higher as designed.
The RPM signal is NOT suitable on DME pin 1. The AVC-R can not process this signal, since this signal carries a lot of interferences. To verify this simulate the Analog RPM Gauge on AVC-R screen and press the gas pedal fast.
The needle jumps up and down reading the fault RPM signals and if you check the RPM peak you always hit the max.
Use the pin 21 DME which is connected with the KLR pin 9.
This signal is generated in the DME and forwarded to KLR.
Is stable, clear and suits to AVC-R specs.
Good luck
Theo

OK This is great info.... I have an AVC-r that will be installed this weekend.
I would love to make an install diagram from all this info...... unless someone has drawn one up??? Similar to the vacuum diagram, timing belt diagrams that are floating around....
SO if anyone has some sketchy diagrams and more tips I would like to incorporate it all into one page for reference for us newbee's....
A page that would label the dme/klr wires commonly used by the popular boost controllers would be helpfull!!
