Yes it does. It's a bit "ghetto", you can +/- duty % in each gear. I use it to combat wheelspin in the lower gears.

Very nice OZ.... u the man.

Now.... how about the wiring diagrams that the device connects to..... (blue wire to dme pin number X) ... etc

oh and all the setting values of the AVC-r that correspond to our cars....

In one nicely laid out sheet.

Rage2 :

Thats the main reason I bought an AVC..... so how well is it able to perform this function.........? What psi do you have the car set up for in each gear?

Pump fuel "A" map, 12psi in all gears (that's all 92 octane can do).
103 octane "B" map, 17psi 1st gear, 22psi 2nd gear, 28psi 3rd-5th.

It does the job very well. You can see it in action in my incar drag video.

I have seen your video ...... maybe some day I will see 12's with a 40 psi glory run

Sorry to hijack the thread........ but Holy crap 28 psi...

Rage......

So the AVC will respond that quickly (every shift change).... Very slick

I am running 91 octane up here in Edmonton (all I can get). I am starting to tune my car to run 15psi with vitesses piggyback and I am going through my AF's and changing the AF ratios to 12:1 at WOT just to be on the safe side......... but I am getting some serious wheel spin in 1st and was hoping to combat this by running lower psi as well. Do you think I am stretching it running 15 psi on 91 octane? I thought I was still on the safe side with the proper AF ratios?

It's all about the turbo. I've got a big turbo that crams more air into the engine at 12psi than yours at 15psi. On 92 octane, I max out at around 280whp on a Mustang dyno (that's about 330whp or so on a dynojet).

This is what I have...........

.... on a side note I removed the CAT today and replaced my exhaust with a custom 3" full exhaust........ YUMMY..... What a difference....... It is spooling so much faster. It feels like its GULPING air now......

by the way I may see you at SCC on the 21st..... good luck with your efforts!

Glad you like the diagram. Its part of my web page here and the page contains the links to some other info on the AVCR electrical setup as well as the new info I picked up from this thread on the software setup.

Great info, thanks to all (Matt, got your forwarded .doc, thanks!)

It's too bad the speed sensor pulses won't work directly.

For EBC, if I want to map boost to rpm, are there any better choices than an AVC-R?

Thanks
Sam

Sam no problem but credit belongs to Dave McGrath, he sold it to me and sent the instructions along.

OK I summarised the setup information into a pic which you can see here:

I dont have the manuals in front of me but if someone can let me know the wire colour for DME pin 1 and KLR pin 22 (RPM+TPS) I will add that info to the pic.

Gear based DOES work. I've been using it since the first AVC-R's came out. I was probably the first 951 to have one...
