I haven't posted here in awhile.
Yesterday I got in my car and noticed that my brake pedal had gone mushy. I don't know what could have caused it. I had driven the car week before last and it was fine. The brakes don't seem to have lost any strength but I have to press the pedal a lot further to get them to start to engage.
Is it air in the system?
Master Cylinder?
Bad hose?
What do you guys think.

I recomend the ATE super blue, or if you want something cheaper that works really well go with the Ford Super Duty truck fluid, very similar to the boiling points from ATE, and 1/2 the price.
As for the pedal, air in the line would be my first guess, try that first if not it will be time to see if it is the master or brake cyl.....

I am going to completely bleed the system tonight or tomorrow. I hope that it isn't the master cylinder. How much fluid do I need?
Where can I find the ATE fluid?

Mine exhibited similar symptoms. Turned out it was the proportioning valve had a very slow leak that allowed some air into the system. It would take upwards of a week after bleeding before it started again. The valve isn't very expensive nor hard to get at.

How did you diagnose that????
That is what I am scared of. That it is some $5.00 part and I end up spending $500 trying to figure it out. I am trying to avoid throwing parts at the problem.
