Default Factory voltmeter

Hey guys,

Voltmeter sits at 12.3ish car running drops to 12 with lights/heater etc. on. Battery grounds are clean and with tester reads 12.2 car not running. 13.8 car running drops to 13.6 w/lights,heat,etc. on. Can I assume the battery/alt/regulator are good? If so, could it be the gauge itself? All other gauges work perfectly. BTW this issue started after I replaced the odometer gear if that matters.

Probably the ground wire from your alternator to starter. They are known to corrode internally cause the exact same issue.
