I'm ready to plug the block. It is common to pin core plugs on high performance engines. Are our plugs OK with loctite only or should I go the extra mile?

Can't answer the question about how likely they are to come lose, but I had mine tapped for plugs.

Nice. Do you have any more info om the plugs and taps used?
Do you have to modify the water pump, or is the plug flush with the block?

I used 2 3/4" pipe plugs for the main galley (XRP 993206) and a 1/2" plug for the internal port (XRP 993205). Had my machinist tap the ports so that the plug sat below the surface, so no interference with the waterpump. Used Gasoila to seal the threads.
