are you gonna go for it??
I was to but will back down if your getting it. Not sure about using the #8 hotside, I thought the smaller hybrids used the #6?

That one isn't set up for water cooling like our cars tho, right? Unless I missed something, I think I would stay away from it.

Can you say lag on a 2.5L engine?
A #8 hot side on a T04E turbo will not make peak TQ untill after at least 4100-4300rpms on a 2.5L engine.
Plus, T04E's have 3" inlets. Gonna be a problem if you have a/c because the alternator is about a good 1/2"+ in the way of the turbo inlet.
This turbo would be good on a 2.8L - 3.0L with a/c delete.

Isn't that top port on the bearing carrier the oil return? Also, how are you planning on connecting the oil feed, as the side flange isn't drilled and tapped for it where it would normally be located for a 951.
I could be wrong here, but I think thats set up for a 930, not a 944.

I was planning on bidding on that... Now that it's posted here there's quite a few potential buyers huh? Hehe.
Well, if I get it, I'll let you know how it performs but yeah I expect some work before it drops in. Center section is a garrett so it will need at least an adaptor to work w/turbo mount. Clearing the compressor housing/intake manny/throttle body should be some work, ditto for the intake piping, but it is doable...

Are you sure about this? The reason I ask is because I am running a T04b with a #6 hotside machined out for a turbonetics stage 3 turbine wheel. After I got the turbo back I compared the machined #6 housing to a stock #8 and my #6 looked (and measured) identical to the #8 except the housing outlet on my #6 was now larger than the factory #8. With my 46 compressor wheel, I get full boost (15psig at 7200' elevation) by about 3~3200 rpms.

If you have a real #8 hot side you will have lots of lag. You don't have a #6 hot side, and you don't have a #8 hot side. You've got something else. What it is... I don't know.
If you have a 3" inlet, you do not have a T04B. You have a T04E.
And no matter what you do, short of moving the alternator down, or moving the turbo up, you cannot have a straight shot into the turbo with a 3" inlet. All the funny kinks in the purcosil, and angles you have to run probably defeat the larger intake of the turbo to begin with.
