It amazing how my 86 951 will be 30 years old next year. The doors still close like they are brand new. The engine only has 144k and with upkeep it drives like a reliably very fast light tank. What a great long term Porsche design with even still impressive quality. I still hate the rear glass hatch that comes apart every 5-7 years but everything else is solid within regular maintenance schedules.

I agree 100%, '80s Porsches are fantastic! Maintenance is key, but they are screwed together very well. Mine has 165K miles, almost 10K of which are track abuse and it works well every day and asks for more.
My '86 will officially have its 30th birthday this August. There may be a party.

the doors do make a nice sound when they close.
my car hit 30 in december.
the only old-age rattles include the hatch glass coming undone again, and the passenger door lock stem on bumpy roads.
