There is small group started by Rex where only dedicated 944 turbo people are, he also shares his intake build over there!

The turbogroup is just for the pics for me as well!

LOL I left that one a long time ago. I think I only lasted a few weeks, could not handle the dumbs.

There's a local 944 one that I'm still on, though it too is mostly full of noise. I have it blocked from my feed but keep it around in case I have stuff I want to sell and don't want to deal with shipping it.

I agree. The FB site is not very good for any ongoing discussions. The forum works much better in my opinion.

I'm on there, but it's more to see some pictures, see what Lart has listed, that sort of thing. I like Rennlist for technical info, I like searching here for old topics, Facebook just doesn't make sense for that in my opinion.

Hey guys it's Rex,

I find that Facebook is best to "stir the pot" and spark inspiration for areas of research. I do engage in some very deep technical discussions from time to time. And have mastered Facebook's search function enough to bring up discussions from the past well enough to serve it's function for me.

What I like to do instead is create private threads between myself and other technical, like minded individuals to discuss various realms; or simply to move forward on a singular area of development in particular.

I feel as though the problems with Facebook groups is they are allowed to become much too large and they lose that family quality. Which is why I have chosen to keep the group invite only. Many individuals in the group are my personal Facebook friends, or are apart of EastCoast Nines. My preferred group of enthusiast if you will.

They are the first to be updated, and I am far more comfortable sharing intimate details of my design with them. As of now, this is the pool where I will most likely pull candidates for product testing as words cannot represent the value that their experience and input means to me. It's a pleasure to have their presence in the group, and as long as I have anything to do with the company I will keep it that way. Much rather have a small intimate group, then something large scale that inevitably turns into a popularity contest.

What is being discussed on your fb page that isn't already discussed on here?

FB for me is pure business and lots of fun doing what I like the most picking up fights and instigating lol. I can say things over there that would get me banned here. definitely is not a place for technical discussions but bashing LS swaps 928 etc etc all the fun stuff hahahaha

It's not so much what's being discussed, but who it is being discussed with. RL is invaluable for the technical side of things, as many have already stated, but my problem with most Porsche forums is there is far too many cookie cutter mentalities in terms of innovation for my taste. One thing I always found off putting is how quickly radical ideas were beat down by unsubstantiated claims. Now I'm not saying that this is a pattern for all ideas, because it is not. I have seen some pretty radical things become successful here. But I am one of those individuals that goes far left field, and makes it work in the end on a level that is easily repeatable by anyone who chooses to do the same. I created the group as Bas stated to gather dedicated turbo owners (and NA) to discuss innovation. Purely things that either have not been deeply researched, or just never been done. And it has proven to be far more fruitful then my encounters on forums. Plus as Lart stated I get to troll every now and then and have some fun. Lol.
