Default "Captains Choice"

So while looking into getting an exhaust upgrade for my 944 turbo....I started to think, I might have to deal with emissions down TN. So that got me thinking that maybe doing a CAT bypass wouldn't be a good idea because most likely it wouldn't pass an E-Check without one. Then I wondered if these cars would pass with a Race Cat on. Didn't know if any of you guys have dealt with that scenario. BUT WHAT IF,,,,,, I were to install a diverter valve giving me a captains choice exhaust. Which would obviously give me the choice of switching to CAT or no CAT.

Give me your thoughts or experiences with set ups.

I use a Lindsey 4 in big flow exhaust. I just welded on vband connections before an after the cat. That way I can easily swap if I want to

I have a muffler bypass on my S2. In theory you could do it for a cat bypass on a turbo. My only real concern would be the clearance under the car where the cat is.

that is a really good idea!! didn't even think about that. I like that. easy to change out to just a straight pipe or a CAT for inspection.

Thanks Mahoney!

I think its doable. Clearance was a thought of course but I think if I went with that route it could be possible. But I like Mahoney's solution with the V-Band clamps. really clever
