Default Tail light colour

Hi all,

I mostly live out of the country my car is in. A while ago I had my dad get the shop to replace the left tail light as it had cracked. I've come back recently and the new tail light is noticeably darker than the old right tail light. Did Porsche change the colour somewhere along the way?

The online listings I've seen suggest that they are all the same part between 944s and 951s, I assume that's correct?

Cheers,

Chris

Have any picture? I think my 89 tail lights were also a bit darker, but thought PO darkened them.

Old tail lights fade to pinky red. That's probably why

Ah...I wouldn't have said they were pinky, if anything the 'old' lighter one looks more like a modern tail light colour. Will take a pic tomorrow.

I asked Porsche Centre Melbourne and they said from the parts catalogue (forget the official name) all 944 variants use the same tail lights.

Apparently it was a second hand light.

It is more than likely, an issue of fading.

I've seen the difference you talk about. It might be fading but I'm not convinced it is.

Perhaps at some point the plastic mix might have slightly changed, or someone made the wrong mix and they produced them anyway.
