951 MPG
Out of curiosity, how much gas mileage is everyone getting?
I am easy on the pedal and spend a lot of time in traffic jams. I also let the car warm up before driving it. I am getting 11 mpg. There car is running smoothly. This seems very low. Should my upgrades decline mileage this much? (MAF, upgraded turbo, exhaust, custom fuel maps.)
After searching the web, a stock 951 should be getting 16 mpg in the city.

I normally see 20-22 mpg in mine. This mostly back road driving and fun cruising. Not hard driving and not highway either. On the highway it normally gets between 26-28 . I believe I have only seen under twenty on one or two occasions.

The car cruises with 14.5 to 14.7 mixture off boost. This would be a quick 944 without the turbo. My boost gauge rarely goes into positive territory and when it does mixture is in the 12s.
I am wondering where the gas is going. I am going to document consumption better to confirm my mpg.

you should be getting at least 15 in city traffic.

I got 550 miles to the tank coming from Charlotte to Mid-Ohio for the 944Fest. That calculated out to 25mpg and I was driving quite spiritedly through the mountains.

These cars have a pretty low drag coefficient and small frontal area, so should be getting far better highway cruise mileage than they do.
Mine gets ~25-27 mpg cruising at a steady ~75 mph, but it should be closer to ~35 mpg, based on the mileage of other small cars with comparable engine size and drag characteristics.
So, why don't our cars do better?

Stock cruise fueling is probably too rich. New cars usually cruise quite lean.

There aren't any 951 mechanics/shops that I trust in Tucson, and those that have the expertise here, also have full time jobs and families. Since I want this done NOW, the money paid to a shop with expertise is worth every cent.
I'll let you know when I'll be picking it up and we could meet there. Mario, my tuner, is coming with me to finalize some tuning on I-10 on the way home. I'll give you a quick ride of you want.
Send me a PM and I'll give you my contact information.
