Default Looking for SF Bay Area machine shop

Hello Everyone,

I need to have my 944 Turbo S engine block bored and sleeved. I would like to have the work done locally in the San Francisco Bay Area (I am located in Burlingame). Can anyone suggest a machine shop in this area that has experience in 944 engine block boring and sleeving?

Thank you all in advance.
Igor

I'm going to answer my own question as I've been doing some research and have found three that seem to have a very good reputation and have experience in machining 944 engine blocks.

Jay's Precision Machine
1751 Grant Street Santa Clara, CA 95050, United States
(408) 980-0743

Mike and Ted at
German Precision
1745 Grant Street Santa Clara, CA 95050, United States
(408) 844-8331

Pacific Performance Motorsports
608 S Railroad in San Mateo, California 94401
(650) 344-3374
scheduling@pacificperformancemotorsports.com

I contacted Jay and really liked my short discussion with him on what needs to be done to my block. I think I will bring my business to him.

If anyone would like to share their experience with any of the above, or have suggestions for other quality machine shops in the Bay Area, please chip in.

Thanks.
Igor

Pacific Performance is Mike Stimson, he's an expert with the 944, it's his specialty. I'd have my work done there if I wasn't friends with another machinist.

Clark's Auto and Marine in Burlingame did my 951 engine (cylinders and head work). I'm still putting it together, but I had a few conversations with Gary and he has lots of experience with Alusil, mainly Mercedes blocks. My friend Wes there has done a few heads for me now, they always turn out great.

I did not have a great experience at Jay's (despite the name).
