Default vacuum line question

I'm cleaning up my vacuum disaster/mess.

Looking at the AVC-R installation diagram, it says to
tap the boost right after the turbo and before the throttle body.
(the intercooler pipe on the banjo belt thing).

Whats the difference between tapping there and on the intake manifold?
Does it have something to do with when you suddenly let off the gas?
(ie shifting)
Can I move this tap to the intake manifold?

I have like 8 million things coming off the intake manifold, so I wondered if
I could just build one big octopus and put everything on it.

Also, my vacuum reservior was hooked up to the IM, instead of between the brake check valve (the blue and black thing) and the vac supply coming out near the AC.

Is that correct?
Or does that not make any sense at all?

Measuring boost at different parts of the intake system will give different readings as boost pressure will vary as boost losses occur in parts of the intake system such as the intercooler. Having said that the KLR measures boost at the end of the intake system (manifold) whilst the wastegate senses boost near the beginning between compressor outlet and intercooler.

If there is no check valve in front of your vac cannister then the vac cannister will not hold a reserve of vacuum to operate the heater/ac vent system when the engine is operating without vacuum. the vac cannister does not necessarily have to draw its vacuum from the brake booster line though.

does the vac. reservoir have any effect on braking (pedal feel, braking ability / distance, etc)??
