As title states - I have spring plates on the bench and I want to send them to the plater. Both halves move freely but for the life of me I cannot split them apart. Can it be done at all??? If so - how to do this?

I'm not talking about rubber and metal part - this is obvious - I'm talking about 2 metal halves of spring plate. Can they be separated?

I found that the oxycetylene torch, penetrating lubricant, and a good prybar always work.

I used torch to separate rubber from metal - it took less than 10 minutes to remove 90% of the rubber part. I tried penetrating oil and pry bar, I tried to twist it etc. but they don't want to separate... I don't want to pry more as I'm afraid of bending them

Do you mean the "rectangular part" and the "triangle part with the t-bar end"?

Never mind, I finally did it after few hours of soaking in diesel oil. They were just seized.
