Obviously in this case I never would have gotten to cutting the check for the remaining amount.
The point is the money goes into your account, then several weeks later the bank takes it back when they find out it's a counterfeit check you received.

The real question is why send it back?? How are they going to prosecute you? I realize the check is no good, I just wonder why people are so gullible to begin with. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. And if it stinks like nothing else its probably a scam.
