I wish him all the best, but I think his budget is a little off. 25k to build a competitive car is going to be very tough. Based on the schedule and budget, he is looking at a touring class. Hopefully he isn't opposed to buying a used turn key car, which will also give him some time to learn the car and sort it out before COTA in March. We looked at building a base Cayman or ecoboost for TC, but determined that it would leave a very very tight schedule to build the car, let alone get the bugs worked out and give the driver some seat time. That's a great opportunity and I hope he gets it figured out. Another option would be to find an existing team and see what a seat would cost with his free entries factored in. There are a handful of teams with open seats right now.
